Placement test – Portuguese courses for undergraduate exchange students

O Setor de Português Língua Estrangeira (SePLE) da Faculdade de Letras (FL) oferece disciplinas para intercambistas que tenham interesse em estudar português e estejam inscritos em programas de graduação (undergraduate programs) na UFRJ. Eles devem ter, portanto, DRE de graduação.
Informamos a data da avaliação diagnóstica de língua portuguesa para 2022.1:Data: 13/04/22 (quarta-feira)Horário: 14hLocal: Prédio da Faculdade de Letras, 3º andar, bloco H, sala H-312.
Os estudantes interessados em cursar uma das disciplinas oferecidas devem fazer pré-inscrição para a prova enviando e-mail para intercambio@letras.ufrj.br, com as seguintes informações:

Ao recebermos a mensagem, responderemos confirmando a inscrição para o teste.
Observação importante: alunos iniciantes não precisam fazer a avaliação, mas devem nos enviar e-mail com os dados solicitados acima, escrevendo também “INICIANTE”. Não será aceito pedido posterior para mudança de turma nos casos daqueles que se declaram iniciantes. Se houver dúvidas, o intercambista deverá fazer o teste. [Sugerimos que falantes de espanhol como língua materna, ainda que com poucos conhecimentos de português, façam o teste.]

Os alunos serão indicados ao curso mais adequado ao seu nível de proficiência somente após os testes. Cabe ressaltar que é o SePLE, responsável pelos cursos, a instância que fará a divisão dos alunos por turma. Os estudantes não poderão escolher o horário das aulas. Todas as aulas são ministradas na Faculdade de Letras (campus Fundão).
A data de início das aulas será avisada por e-mail. A FL fica responsável pela inscrição dos alunos nas disciplinas de português. (Quando se faz necessário, contatamos as unidades para que regularizem as inscrições.)
Os intercambistas que frequentam programas de pós-graduação na UFRJ devem entrar em contato com o PEPPE-CLAC (portuguesbrasil@letras.ufrj.br) caso tenham interesse em estudar português.

Dear students,
The Department of Portuguese as Second/Foreign Language (SePLE) of the Institute of Languages and Literature (Faculdade de Letras) offers courses for exchange students who are interested in taking Portuguese classes and are enrolled in undergraduate programs at UFRJ. Thus an undergraduate registration number (DRE de graduação) is required. (Undergraduate exchange students will probably have a ‘DRE de graduação’ within 15 days after reporting at UFRJ.)
The placement test for exchange students who would like to study Portuguese will be held on
April, 13th 2022 (Wednesday), at 2pm. Room H-312 (3rd floor, block H). Faculdade de Letras. Ilha do Fundão.
If you would like to attend a Portuguese course and register for the test, send us an e-mail (intercambio@letras.ufrj.br) with the following information:

We will acknowledge receipt of your email.
Please, notice that students who do not have any knowledge of Portuguese do not have to take the placement test. They just have to mention in their e-mail with the data required that they are beginners. If you have any doubt, you should register for the test. After classes start, students who said they are beginners will not be allowed to change the level. [We suggest that those who speak Spanish as first language register for the test even if they consider themselves as beginners.]
Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays, according to the groups formed by the Department of Portuguese as Second/Foreign Language after the placement test:
LEV015 – Wed and Fri, from 11.10 am to 12.50 pm LEV016 – Wed and Fri, from 4pm to 5.40 pm LEV610 – Wed and Fri, from 2pm to 3.40 pm LEV611 – Wed and Fri, from 2pm to 3.40 pm
Beginning of classes and the appropriate group for each student will be informed by e-mail after the test. Students cannot choose the time of the classes. All classes are held at Faculdade de Letras (Ilha do Fundão)
Portuguese courses have passing requirements: at least 75% of attendance and a minimum final mark of 5. The Faculdade de Letras will enroll all the students who will attend Portuguese courses. (You should not ask your center or school at UFRJ for enrollment in Portuguese classes.)
Graduate exchange students (attending Masters or PhD programs at UFRJ) who would like to study Portuguese should contact the PEPPE-CLAC Program: portuguesbrasil@letras.ufrj.br.
